Alex Linnell

World Records

This Stand Up Paddle board trip down the length of the Mississippi River will set multiple world records. Alex Linnell will be the first person to Stand Up Paddle the entire length of the Mississippi River from the Headwaters of Minnesota to the Gulf of Mexico. The second record he will set is for the longest Stand Up Paddle journey of 2350+miles, surpassing the most recent distance record held by Tom Jones who paddled 1507 miles from Key West to NYC in the summer of 2010.

Update: Alex completed his world record breaking expedition on August 9, 2011, to be first person to ever SUP the entire length of the Mississippi River. He paddled 65 of the 70 day long trip, reaching the Gulf of Mexico in 2323 miles. This broke another world record of 1808 miles set earlier this summer by a duo of paddlers.
