As the FIRST person to ever Stand Up Paddle the Mississippi river I would like to announce my official mileage for my multiple world record setting Mississippi River Expedition

I have calculated my Mississippi River mileage conservatively at 2323 miles.

This is calculated using the MN/Dept. of Natural Resources and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers river map mileage.  I have added for my miles across Lake Itasca (4.5 miles) and for the longer route I took across the three large northern Minnesota lakes (2.1 miles) along with the route I took at the river delta.

I did not add for: the city harbors I paddled into; two short sections I paddled twice; irregular routes common to stand up paddling; or routes taken to avoid tows and their wakes.  My actual mileage was likely 1-2% higher if there was a way to accurately record all of these items .
I hope this answers everyone’s questions. Thank you all for the amazing support!

I have pushed my limits both mentally and physically many times throughout this trip. I wanted to really push myself and have a strong finish so I have paddled 6 fifty plus days in a row followed by a 60 mile day yesterday! But today I pushed myself farther than ever. I was up at five, on the water by 6:30am. I paddled over 10 hours straight without a break and made the 60miles to Venice by 4:40pm!!! =]

Listening in on the tow captains conversations about me this morning I am thrilled to inform you all that I was awarded…no crowned…… “The dumbass of the week!” Knowing this was great honor I have prepared this speech…….

I would first like to thank my family, then my friends, and of course my supporters for helping me reach my lifelong dream of ultimate dumbassness! And finally I really have to thank the tow drivers for putting in those late nights debating who was really deserving of such a honor! Thank you all!

(More great towdriver comments to come!)
